The Pigment Pictures is a cloth-bound artist monograph structured as a codex.
Developed through scanning, painting, annotation, and typewritten text, the book gathers pigment, residue, and working traces into a bound sequence. Across 100 A4 pages, images extend uninterrupted through a lay-flat binding — allowing colour to move seam to seam.
Painted surfaces, film scans, marginal edits, and handwritten interventions are retained without hierarchy. Corrections remain visible. Process is not refined away; it is held.
Rather than functioning as documentation, the book operates as the work itself — a portable field in which pigment is treated as substance, gesture, and event.
The publication follows a loose passage across chromatic territories — blue, orange, yellow — while holding the reader inside the structure as participant rather than observer.
Each copy is produced through combined analogue and digital processes: photographs captured on film, negatives scanned and printed, pages painted by hand, and text composed on a studio typewriter.
The result is not a linear narrative but a layered codex — an archive of encounters held in sequence.
Published as a finite edition of 100.
Each copy is signed and individually numbered.
